RLSMCIS Celebrates International Youth Day with Mock Parliament

On August 12th, International Youth Day, RLSMCIS organized a Mock Parliament for students of grades 9th to 12th. The event aimed to provide a firsthand experience of the parliamentary proceedings and the process of implementing a bill.

RLSMCIS celebrated International Youth Day in style, hosting a Mock Parliament for students from grades 9th to 12th. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including former MP Harish Dwivedi as the chief guest. Dwivedi, a seasoned politician and member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, brought a wealth of experience and insight to the event ¹.

The event also saw the participation of many esteemed guests from various political parties, who shared their expertise and experiences with the students. This interaction provided a valuable learning experience for the students, allowing them to gain insights into the world of politics and governance.

A Glimpse into Parliamentary Proceedings

The Mock Parliament simulated a day in the life of the Indian Parliament, providing students with a unique opportunity to learn about the country’s democratic processes. Students took on various roles, including MPs, ministers, and other parliamentary officials, to gain a deeper understanding of how the government functions.The session was conducted with utmost authenticity, complete with a mock Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The Bill-Making Process

Following the simulation, the students participated in a bill-making exercise, where they presented, discussed, and voted on a mock bill. This hands-on experience allowed the students to understand the intricacies of the legislative process and the importance of parliamentary procedures.
